TP Mazembe Coach Slams Referee After Al Ahly Loss

TP Mazembe head coach Lamine N'Diaye has slammed the referee following his side's CAF Champions League exit at the hands of Al Ahly.

The defending champions advanced to the final after securing a 3-0 win in the second leg of their semi-final on Friday night.

The Congolese giants thought they had scored in the 57th minute through Joel Beya, but the goal was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a handball.

The Mazembe tactician claims the referee was more in favour of the Egyptian giants throughout the second leg.

"We must talk about it; we lost by three goals, which angers me," N'Daiye said after the game, as per KingFut.

"I am frustrated because I know well that we are in Africa; if we want to progress, the referees must be serious and better than that.

"The game was one-sided regarding refereeing, and I know well that we are human and can make mistakes, but I am frustrated, and this affected us and our focus.

"The referee played a negative role in this match, and Al Ahly does not need that," he added.
