A new study has ranked the highest paid players in football, and pointed out that only seven Africans earn more than €100 000 (R1.46 million) a week. Here are the seven best earning Africans currently playing.

The study was conducted by Verve search, a London-based marketing agency, and Axo Finans, a Norwegian financial consultancy, using data from Sporting Intelligence's latest Annual Sports Salary Survey 2016.
The data is based on 2015/16 salaries and has Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan as highest paid African player, with €255 044 (R3.7 million) a week.
The wage comes from his time with Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, but it is not known if he still receives that much since joining Al Ahli on loan this season.
Yaya Toure follows in second place with his €247 179 (R3.6 million) wage, and he will definitely still be on the same earnings at Manchester City, but his contract expires at the end of the season.
Stephane Mbia is another African star who is pocketing big money in China, earning €120 192 (R1.8 million) weekly since joining Hebei China Fortune in January.
Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba reportedly earns €115 385 (R1.7 million) a week with Shanghai Shenhua, the club, who are expected to make Carlos Tevez the highest paid player in world football in January.
Wilfried Bony makes an appearance in fifth place among the highest paid African footballers, but his wage also refers to his time with City.
Again, it is uncertain how much of the weekly €112 354 (R1.65 million) he retained when joining Stoke City on loan this season.
Obafemi Martins also plies his trade for Shanghai Shenhua and nets €111 538 (R1.63 million) a week, while Paris Saint-Germain right back Serge Aurier reportedly earns €100 000 (R1.46 million) weekly.
