Reports coming out of Nigeria claim that Finidi George has resigned as head coach of the Super Eagles after just two games.
The Super Eagles are winless in their opening four 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers following a draw against South Africa and a loss to Benin this week.
According to various Nigerian publications, Former Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye stated the coach handed in his resignation.

George was only appointed as Jose Peseiro's successor in February this year but has only managed two games so far, which came in the World Cup qualifiers.
The reports come after the Nigerian Football Federation announced this week that they will be bringing in a foreign coach to help George in the qualifiers.
The Punch also reported that George expressed his frustration with the lack of support from the NFF and a European-based players in a meeting with Sports Minister John Enoh.
