Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron claims the Egyptian Premier League is the best in Africa after their CAF Champions League win on Friday.
The defending Egyptian champions were the first team to book their spot in the Champions Lague group stages after thrashing Tusker 5-0 on Friday evening.
The Fench tactician was pleased to secure a spot in the group stages once again and claims they take every match seriously.
"We respect the African Champions League, we take every match seriously, and the preliminary round match does not mean that it's easy so we were excited about that," Carteron said after the win, as per KingFut.
"The performance was important and will give us a boost in the coming period. Also the addition of Mostafa Fathi and Ounajem, they will give us additional attacking strength. But now the problem is that we still don't know what our home stadium will be in the league.
"The Egyptian Premier League is the strongest in Africa. We will forget about the Champions League and focus on the upcoming ENPPI match in the league, which won't be an easy match."
Zamalek will go in search of their first Champions League title since 2002, with their last appearance in the final coming against Al Ahly in 2020 which they lost.
