Earlier this week, the Super Eagles confirmed that they will be without the services of their superstar striker Victor Osimhen as the Napoli man has been sidelined by an injury for the next four weeks.
This ruled the Lagos native from national team action for Nigeria's World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.
Now, the three-time African champions have confirmed that another attacking star, Nathan Tella, has pulled out of their latest national team camp, citing family reasons the explanation for his unavailability.
"Nathan Tella of Bayer Leverkusen has excused himself from the upcoming WCQ matches due to family reasons. Coach Finidi George has now called up Ibrahim Olawoyin of Caykur Rizespor of Turkey," Nigeria announced via their official X account.

Tella, 24, was part of the Bayer Leverkusen squad that lost just one match in all competitions this past season as his seven goals and six assists in all competitions helped Die Schwarzroten capture a historic domestic double.
Tella's lone appearance for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finalists came earlier in their World Cup qualification campaign, in their 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe.

That one cap came under now-departed head coach Jose Peseiro, and he will now be absent from Finidi George's first squad as the west African giants look to get their first win of qualifying in their upcoming matches against Hugo Broos and Gernot Rohr's charges.
