Liverpool's African superstar Mohamed Salah reportedly does not blame Sergio Ramos for the serious injury that could rule him out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, despite the Real Madrid captain receiving a massive backlash from fans all over the world.

The Egyptian had to be substituted after just 30 minutes in his side's 3-1 UEFA Champions League final defeat to Real after clashing with Ramos and falling on his shoulder.

The Spain centre-back has since been heavily criticised by many, in particular fans from Egypt, since, and there has even been a petition, which has received more than 500 000 signatures, to ban the defender retrospectively.

However, Salah, who dislocated his shoulder in the incident, does not blame his counterpart for the serious injury, according to Reds physiotherapist Ruben Pons.

"Salah has not told me anything about Sergio Ramos," the Spaniard said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

"I don't think he is angry with him. It was an accidental challenge.

"We knew that it was something serious as soon as he fell on the ground because he never complains. We feared the worst.

"I was devastated. I tried to keep him calm. I told him he couldn't do anything about it now and that he should not worry. It was time to look for solutions and not regret that things had not worked out."

Meanwhile, Hany Abo Rida, president of the Egypt FA, has insisted Salah will play for the Pharaohs at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but is likely to miss their first game against Uruguay.

"EFA President Hany Abo Rida says he is likely to miss Egypt's opener against Uruguay," a statement from EFA's official Twitter account read.

"But will be 100% for Russia game."
