A former Egypt star claims Pitso Mosimane's contract renewal with Al Ahly is more important than winning a trophy.
After weeks of speculation, the reigning African champions confirmed that they had extended Mosimane's contract for a further two years.
The former Bafana Bafana coach has already won two CAF Champions League titles, the Egypt Cup and also led the side to two bronze medals at the FIFA Club World Cup.
"Al Ahly renewing Mosimane's contract is more important than any other trophy right now," Mido said, as per KingFut.
"Mosimane's contract renewal with Al Ahly is a major trophy in itself."
Mido also previously had some high praise for Mosimane, who he feels ia s better head coach than club legend Manuel Jose.
"In my opinion, Mosimane is a better head coach than Manuel José," Mido said.
"If José had the same players Mosimane has, he couldn't have made as many achievements.
"Manuel José is a great coach, but he had the tools and the players who helped him a lot. However, José had a more firm personality which was his major strong point."
