FIFA Issue Rulani's Wydad Club World Cup 'Ultimatum'

FIFA Issue Rulani's Wydad Club World Cup 'Ultimatum'

World football governing body FIFA has reportedly issued Rulani Mokwena's Wydad Athletic Club an ultimatum ahead of their participation in the 2025 Club World Cup.

Despite the Moroccan giants recently announcing several signings, reports across Africa claim that Wydad are currently in the middle of a transfer window ban imposed by FIFA.

This comes amid the club's failure to settle payments with former employees, including 25-year-old Soufiane Karkache, who left Wydad in 2022, and Nigerian winger Ade Oguns, who departed this year.

Amid fears the transfer ban could impact Mokwena's start in Morocco, rumours suggest that the club's new president, Hicham Ait Menna, is working behind the scenes to ensure these matters are resolved.

According to sport.al3omk, the latest is that FIFA has instructed all teams participating in next year's expanded Club World Cup to settle their debts for which final rulings have been issued, or they will face the risk of not being allowed to take part.

It is claimed Wydad and other teams competing in the tournament will have until 31 January 2025 to resolve these matters, with the Red Castle's officials reportedly trying to find solutions.

It is also said the Moroccan giants are able to register their new recruits in what is believed to be referred to as a "suspension of registration", but they will not be able to include them in official matches.
