CAF president Dr Patrice Motsepe has reportedly been given the responsibility by his executive committee to make a big decision concerning a major CAF competition.

The 2024/25 season is nearing, which means two of Africa's best sides are set to face off in the next edition of the CAF Super Cup.
Al Ahly extended their record for the most CAF Champions League titles last season when they beat Esperance de Tunis 1-0 over the two-legged affair, while their eternal rivals Zamalek won their second CAF Confederation Cup after emerging victorious from the final courtesy of the away goals rule following their 2-2 draw with RS Berkane.
The two sides are now set to face off in the continental curtain-raiser, but where the encounter will take place is yet to be decided.

According to Ahl Masr News, the CAF president presented the dilemma to his executive committee during their latest meeting in Cairo.
It is believed the Pretoria native disclosed that both Saudi Arabia and Qatar had offered to host the spectacle, to which the exco responded that he should be the one who decides where the match will be played.

The report further claims that only after Motsepe has decided where the match will be played will he return to his fellow executives to determine the timing of the encounter, with it believed the game could take place in September.
