For Liverpool, Mane registered 23 goals and five assists across all competitions as the team won the FA Cup and League, while they also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League.

The newly signed Bayern attacker beat out competition from his countryman Edouard Mendy and former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

Mane is the second player from Senegal to win the award after El Hadji Diouf won it in 2001 and 2022.
