A number of coaches have been linked with the reigning African champions in recent days, including Orlando Pirates tactician Jose Riveiro who will become a free agent at the end of the season.
Former Borussia Dortmund coach Marco Rose and former Zamalek coach Jose Gomes were also reportedly on Al Ahly's short-list.
Reports in Egyptian media, Al Ahly have now decided to rule out Rose and Gomes for the head coach role in Cairo.
Kooora claim that talks broke down with Rose after failing to reach an agreement over financial matters, which included bonuses and the technical team.
Gomes, meanwhile, is currently contracted to Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh and is unlikely to break his deal in order to join his former rivals.
Emad Nassar has been placed in charge of the first team on a temporary basis until the Al Ahly management can find a permanent successor for Koller.
