The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association issued penalties and disciplinary action following Matchday 4 of the Egyptian Premier League play-offs. Al Ahly was among several clubs to be penalised according to the league's regulations and penalty control, FilGoal reported.
Al Ahly's fans will be barred from the stadium for Matchday 5 and 6 of the play-offs and the club will also pay a fine of 200,000 Egyptian pounds (R72 000) after its fans hurled collective abusive chants during the game against Haras El-Hodoud.
That means the Red Devils will be without fans for their next games against Al Masry and Ceramica Cleopatra.
Mamelodi Sundowns' CAF Champions League finalists, Pyramids FC, have also received a ban for their masseuse, Mohamed Hatem Mohamed, who was banned for three games for using poor language towards the referee. The club will also pay a 20,000 pound (R7 200) fine.
Another Egyptian powerhouse, Zamalek, received a 5,000 pound (R1,800) fine after the club's assistant coach Ayman Abdelaziz was suspended for one game after receiving three yellow cards throughout the season.
