DR Congo and Everton winger Yannick Bolasie, who is missing the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations due to a serious injury, recalled his strange salary at Hillingdon Borough in the lower ranks of English football.
"It's true they used to pay me in burgers. There were plenty of stories like that back in the day," he told Everton's official website.
The story came out when Bolasie helped out his former club this week, after Hillingdon had announced via Twitter that they would be folding.
"I'm always happy to help out one of my former clubs," Bolasie added.
"They are in need of support at the moment so I just wanted to chip in."
