Tunisia are the highest-ranked side that have been placed in Group E alongside Hugo Broos' charges, Namibia and Mali.
Led by Jalel Kadri, the north African tactician has now named the Eagles of Carthage squad that will be looking to capture the nation's second AFCON title in the Ivory Coast in early 2024.
Kadri has included a few players who were at their previous major tournament, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the likes of Al Ahly's Ali Maaloul present alongside former Esperance de Tunis attacking midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane.
While Mohamed Drager and Nadr Ghandri were cut from the squad, arguably the most surprising omission was that of Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.
The young playmaker was selected for the country's adventure in Qatar last year, but having failed to receive an adequate number of minutes under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford this season, playing only nine matches so far, Kadri has decided against choosing the French-born United academy graduate for his latest squad.
The 2004 AFCON winners will kick off their campaign against the Brave Warriors on 16 January, before taking on Mali in Korhogo at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium on 20 January. They will end their group stage against South Africa on 24 January.
