The story
According to Nigerian media publications such as Pulse Sports Nigeria and Intel Region, Victor Boniface took a moment to show some generosity ahead of Nigeria's loss to Rwanda in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 upset to Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Monday, with the 2023 AFCON finalists seeing their unbeaten run in qualifying come to an end, though they still finished top of Group D.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker, who played 89 minutes in Nigeria's loss on Monday, was spotted on camera making a money transfer directly through the team bus window.
Fans gathered outside the stadium in Uyo and held up their card details on their phones, resulting in Boniface willingly making the cash transfer.
