With the season nearing an end, transfer speculation has grown surrounding several big stars in the game, and I believe that these clubs need to hang on to these world-class talents.
Real Madrid – Gareth Bale
There are not many attacking players with Bale’s pace and strength, and with the money they spent to lure him to Real Madrid, selling the winger because of poor form will come back to haunt them. The Welshman has understandably gone through the motions while still adjusting to life in Spain, but once he hits his highest level again, he might not be stopped.
Manchester United – David De Gea
The goalkeeper has been arguably the most important player for Manchester United over the past two seasons, and holding on to his services is vital, as he has the ability to win matches between the sticks – something not many keepers can do. If Manchester United are to qualify for the Champions League next season, De Gea will be important in their campaign.
Liverpool – Raheem Sterling
I believe that the England international will regret leaving Anfield if he chooses to do so in the summer, as his age is unlikely to get him a starting-spot in any of Europe’s biggest clubs. He could very well become another Scott Sinclair – all the potential in the world, but minimal playing time.
Juventus – Paul Pogba
What is the rush with the French star making a big-money move away from the Italian giants at the end of the season? Pogba is only 22-years-old, and another season for him to develop himself further as a player at Juventus, I believe, is crucial. He’ll have his moment, but it might be too soon.
Arsenal – Mesut Özil
Although the German international has been a shadow of his former self at Arsenal, Özil keeps providing his teammates with assists, showing that even in a poor run of form, he can still contribute to the team. Maybe if Arsene Wenger can bring in one or two more big-name attacking players, we will see the best from the World Cup winner.
Which other players do you feel need to be held on to by their clubs?
