The story

US Basketball star, Kevin Durant has become a minority shareholder in Paris Saint-Germain, the French champions announced on Wednesday.

As mentioned by ESPN, the recent Olympic gold medalist with Team USA has invested several million dollars of his own money to join the club.

Durant's investment is part of his involvement with Arctos Sports Partners, the American investment fund that acquired a 12.5% stake in PSG in 2023, with the club valued at $4.6 billion.

Durant's goal is to help expand PSG's brand in the US, particularly with the 2025 Club World Cup and the 2026 World Cup on the horizon.

The Pheonix Suns forward is a big football fan and is a part owner of MLS side, Philadelphia Union. He is also a close friend of PSG president, Nasser Al Khelaifi and has visited both the Paris training ground and Parc des Princes stadium multiple times before making his investment, with his most recent visit being early last season.
