We know that they were, or still are world-class footballers - but do they really deserve to have wax statues made of them to be put on display? As ridiculous as it may seem, these footballers have been moulded and replicated for the general public to stand next to and have their photos taken.
Let’s have a look at some of these wax models.
Undoubtedly, Becks had one of the best right foots in football when he played for some of Europe’s elite clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid. His wax model stands in the Madame Tussuads museum in London. Personally, I think the statue may have a little more personality!
The Swedish superstar’s wax model was released and put on display as recently as last month! His ‘twin’ is on display in Paris at a museum that is similar to England’s Madame Tussuads. Is the world really big enough for two Zlatans?
You could’ve guessed this one. It’s been reported that Ronaldo sends a personal stylist to clean-up his wax model and make sure it’s always in tip-top condition! It’s okay to love yourself, but there’s always a line Ronny...
I feel out of all the footballers in the world, he is the one of the few that really deserves something like this. He’s a legend, and in my opinion, one of the greatest entertainers we’ve ever seen on the pitch. Somebody had to preserve that million dollar smile!
Unlike Messi, isn’t it? He may come across as humble, but the Barcelona superstar did not decline the chance to have a wax model of himself on display. Still, he may go down as the best in history so it may be fitting!
Do you think there should be such a big fuss made about these football stars?
