The story

A month ago, Keenan Phillips put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Golden Arrows, which made him the Durban-based side's first signing for the 2024/25 season.

The 24-year-old right-back, Phillips, is hard at work with his new teammates in preparation for the new campaign and will be raring to go after going without a club in the second half of last season.

Formerly of SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits, Phillips was one of the players released by Moroka Swallows following a strike by the players over unpaid salaries.

The Cape Town-born baller shared some unknown details about himself, giving Arrows supporters a chance to get to know him better.

When asked what he wants to achieve in the next five years, ironing out his ambitions on and off the pitch:

"I'll strive to keep working hard in order to make the World Cup team and represent my country. I also see myself having a family with my girlfriend and securing my future with a long-term business venture," answered Phillips.

In terms of his more short-term goals with his new club, Phillips hopes to win some silverware while in Durban:

"I'd like to be able to ensure I am at my prime fitness level in order to give my best to Lamontville Golden Arrows with hopes of winning a trophy, whether that be the Carling Black Label Cup, Nedbank Cup or even the league."
