With Orlando Pirates being left with no natural wingers at the club following the departure of Daine Klate and Tlou Segolela last month, the Fan Park crew will take a look three reasons why Bucs should look to sign SuperSport United winger Thuso Phala in a bid to bolster the attacking department.
Phala’s form in recent times has caught the eyes of national team head coach Shakes Mashaba, and he hasn’t set a foot wrong when donning the national team jersey. Arguably one of SuperSport United’s best players this season, Phala has no doubt come into his own in the PSL.
At the age of 28, Phala would no doubt slot effortlessly into the current Bucs outfit, as he proved that he can be a top performer this season for both club and country. Both Klate and Segolela were experienced men themselves and Phala would be a good replacement.
His pace and power are his best assets, but in terms of contributions to goals, Phala has been very effective for Matsatsantsa this season. Having scored four goals and made nine assists along the way, Phala has had a hand in 13 goals this season for SSU. That is a pretty decent return and this just shows what an attacking threat Phala is.
With that said, should Bucs look into signing Phala?
