The run has ended, SuperSport United beat Chiefs 2-0 on Tuesday to give the Amakhosi their first league loss of the season.
To be honest, it looked to be coming from the beginning of the year.
Sometimes teams have runs of bad luck, and you’ve got to say the Amakhosi aren’t having things go all their way in 2015, with a number of distractions - the off-the-field drama of George Lebese, to the tragic passing of Yeye’s father, the Kingston Nkhatha sub-plot, and Tsepo Masilela having to withdraw just before this game.
But let’s not go crazy, and forget that this was the FIRST league loss only.
Chiefs are still ten points clear at the top, and while the Amakhosi may even lose again, they’re going to have to do that a few more times, and at the same time teams like Wits and Sundowns have to win.
And now this weekend, is another distraction of sorts, a lower league team in the Nedbank Cup in the form of Edu Sports. However perhaps this might be the game, we get back into full steam.
Time for the coach to re-work a few things, and we’ll get right back on track.
Rise Amakhosi Rise.
