Stuart Baxter will not be sitting on the bench in Kaizer Chiefs’ next two league games against AmaZulu and University of Pretoria due to suspension, but will be present for this weekend’s Champions League clash versus Raja. However, should Doctor Khumalo be the one to lead Chiefs during this fixture?
Throughout the campaign, Baxter has been grooming Doc to take over from him. He gave him full reign against Hoffenheim and the Englishman has often allowed the Bafana legend to change the tactics during games.
As a result, Khumalo is nearly fully prepared for the two league fixtures he will take charge of, but why not give him one more match to prepare in advance?
This weekend’s clash against Raja will be no easy feat, and it seems that Chiefs have already conceded that elimination from the CAF Champions League is a possibility.
The Glamour Boys will come into this game having to overturn a 1-0 deficit in the hostile atmosphere of Raja’s home ground in Morocco.
This type of atmosphere will be a great learning curve for Khumalo, and maybe the club should consider putting him in charge in order to gear him up for the next two league games.
Khosi fans, this is just a thought, what do you think about this?
