Entering the final lap of the Premier Soccer League season, clubs may begin to think of how they could reinforce their squads.
Being the big club that we are, Orlando Pirates will no doubt do just so, and hope to once again challenge for honours next season.
Here are a few players we could add to our radar and bolster the squad.
Siyabonga Sangweni and Rooi Mahamutsa, as we know, are not getting much younger. This explains why we signed a much younger Tsepo Gumede in the January transfer window, however, I feel that a player of Bongani Khumalo’s international quality and stature would really benefit us going into next season.
It was reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma that the Ajax Cape Town teenager is wanted by Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Ajax Amsterdam. Should deals in that direction fail to materialise, I feel he would be a great investment for the future at Mayfair.
The free scoring Bloemfontein Celtic attacker is leading the goal scoring charts in the league with 11 goals to his credit this season, and that in itself should make him hot property in the country.
There may be a shortage of top quality goalkeepers in the country that are available to sign, and having to replace a name like Senzo Meyiwa does not make the club's job easier. Jaakkola is by far one of the better goal keepers in the country and looks a prospect good enough to make the grade at Bucs.
Who else do you think should we add to our radar?
