To many Orlando Pirates fans, it looks as if midfield general Oupa Manyisa could be experiencing a slump in form. For the last couple of seasons, Ace has been one of Bucs' most consistent performers and when needed, he rarely disappointed
Despite starting sluggishly in this Premier Soccer League season, Pirates and Ace managed to turn things around with Bucs now looking a side worthy of competing at the highest level.
In this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Manyisa told the Siya Crew what the club has done in a bid to take their performances to the next level.
“As a team, we sat down after losing 2-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in the first round in December, and we planned the way forward,” he said.
“We went to the coach and told him where we wanted to end on the log this season. We agreed how we could approach the games. That has helped us a lot and that’s why we are where we are right now. You know, since we lost to Chiefs in December, we haven’t lost any league games. We want to continue with that and finish as high as we can in the league this season.”
“We put ourselves in the situation. As players, we knew what we were doing. We agreed that the worst we can do is draw, but not lose a game. We want to finish as high as we can in the league this season. With the way we are playing, anything is possible,” Manyisa added.
Do you think it's this type of form which could see us pick up silverware once again?
