With Kaizer Chiefs striker David Zulu being tipped to become the main striker at Naturena, it remains to be seen if the former Chippa United star has what it takes to become a hit at Amakhosi.
Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter may have a slight battle on his hands with regards to implementing the striker in his starting XI, as there are many other strikers at the club who are competing to impress the technical staff.
Being the first-choice striker would mean he would have to bang in the goals as a main priority. Essentially he would be taking over from Nkhatha, and as we know, Nkhatha did not have an impressive goal return. He scored three goals for Amakhosi in the league - which was frowned upon by many of the Chiefs faithful.
Fellow striker Bernard Parker may be assigned to the number 10 role as a result of Zulu being chosen as the target man. This, we know, is a role he flourishes in and they could well form a deadly partnership upfront.
Parker has three goals accredited to his name this season in the league, and that may not be the type of return he would hope for - especially when he has been playing as the lone striker.
Zulu, while at Chippa United, managed to bang in five goals, which is a tally more than any other Chiefs striker at the moment. May I add, in terms of service, Chiefs have playmakers that have been on form all season long, and it could be this type of quality service that unlocks Zulu’s goal scoring potential.
Do you think Zulu has what it takes to be Chiefs' main striker?
