ASHAMED: Uganda Players Slammed For Bafana Loss

Uganda head coach Paul Put was not happy with his side's performance against Bafana Bafana on Friday afternoon.

South Africa moved to the top of Group K with a 2-0 win over the Cranes at the Mandela Stadium, with Thapelo Morena and Patrick Maswanganyi getting the goals.

While Uganda have already qualified, the coach was admittedly 'ashamed' with the performance on the day.

"On training everybody was good, what we have been trying to do was good, but today nothing was good," Put told reporters after the game, as per African Football.

"First half, we didn't give much chances away but we didn't create also. There was no movement, we were losing a lot of balls.

"So second half, we asked to play with a little bit more aggressive upfront but if you give a goal like this in the present against a team like South Africa, you know.

"I told them this is the first time we play against a team who's playing Africa Cup of Nations, so we have to be on top but today was really dramatic.

"I told the players I was not happy with the performance but we have to keep the head up.

"Three days and then we facing Congo and I hope we can give our people a good result because I'm really ashamed of this performance today [Friday]."
