Ghana FA Urged To Sack Ex-Chiefs Coach

Ghana FA Urged To Sack Ex-Chiefs Coach

Ghana have been urged to sack assistant coach John Paintsil.

One of Africa's biggest nations have been told sack a former Kaizer Chiefs from their technical team.

Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing bottom of their qualifying group.

To make matters worse, the Black Stars failed to record a single win for their six encounters in an embarrassing campaign.

Former Ghanaian footballer Charles Taylor has questioned the football association for appointing defender John Paintsil, whose only coaching experience came at Chiefs as Steve Komphela's assistant.

"If you pick John Paintsil as an assistant, are you a good coach? Paintsil himself said he hadn't gotten to that level yet but was given the role," Taylor said, as per Ghanasoccernet.

"I want to know if the GFA or Otto Addo decides the backroom staff because the current people won't help him to succeed.

"The technical team members don't deserve to be there. I said earlier that Addo cannot qualify Ghana for the 2025 AFCON because his demeanour even shows.

"You have this wealth of talented players, so why can't you qualify from a group of Sudan, Angola, and Niger?"
