The Nedbank Cup Football Fan Fashion journey is set to undergo another new and exciting milestone, as the initiative looks set to visit three universities in search of 16 student designers.
These 16 students are expected to team up with the 16 selected Superfans of the PSL’s clubs, as well as 16 of South Africa’s top designers, between 13-17 April.
The journey will take to the campuses of Johannesburg’s Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture (FADA)’s Auditorium (April 13), followed by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (15 April), before concluding at the Durban University of Technology’s City Campus Auditorium on 17 April.
This mission is to see the student gain experience from the qualified designer, and help create and draw inspiration for the new outfits that are set to be designed.
Students will present storyboards and garments depicting their creative process to a panel of judges, whose criteria for selection will be based on:
- Storyboard presentation (to show inspiration and level of research conducted).
- Concept for their designs.
- Originality (to show authenticity in their thinking and creative direction).
- Final Garment (to show final design, execution and quality of the original idea and tailoring skills, as a physical demonstration from sketch to final product).
This fantastic initiative continues to grow. Well done Nedbank! #ThingsThatReallyMatter
