Manchester United are currently sitting fourth in the English Premier League, which has sadly become a position where United’s fans have become used to seeing them in recent times.
Members of the red army have been calling for reinforcements in the team, and the Fan Park crew lists five players who we believe could be a boost for next season’s campaign.
Arturo Vidal – Juventus
The 27-year-old, who has scored six Serie A goals and provided two assists from 18 appearances this season, has been on Manchester United’s radar for quite some time, but none of the gossip ever materialised. Well, with Van Gaal saying he wants to bring a creative midfielder to Old Trafford, the Chilean should be his first target.
Kevin Strootman – AS Roma
We feel Strootman will be a good addition to the side, because firstly, he is a talented midfield player, and secondly, he is Dutch, and already has a strong relationship with Louis Van Gaal. If the 25-year-old can overcome his injuries, ones that kept him out of last year’s World Cup, he’ll do wonders in a red shirt.
Memphis Depay – PSV Eindhoven
The 21-year-old winger, who has played under Van Gaal for Holland could also be the perfect addition to the United squad. He has pace, skill and a good work ethic – all attributes that have seen him score 21 goals in just 29 games this season.
Mats Hummels – Borussia Dortmund
Well, Manchester United need a centre-back - and he is a very strong candidate. Some feel that the German World Cup winner should have moved to a bigger club long ago, and with speculative reports suggesting he might move to England, it may be time to finally make an offer!
Raphael Varane – Real Madrid
Yes, he’s at Real Madrid, one of the biggest clubs in World football, but will he handle being in the shadow of Pepe and Sergio Ramos, because no matter how much promise he shows for Los Blancos, he may seek an important first team role elsewhere. If this is the case, Van Gaal needs to be alert!
