Kaizer Chiefs could potentially lose one of their prized strikers, as Portuguese side Vitoria SC are believed to have tabled an offer for their player, the Siya crew has been informed.

Siya sources have indicated that the two clubs are close to entering into negotiations, with Vitoria SC keen on signing former Stellenbosch FC striker Ashley Du Preez, and a decision is expected soon.
Sources have added that while the offer from Vitoria SC appears to be a good one, there has been no response from Amakhosi yet.
"The Portuguese club is sure about Ashley. They have now made an offer for his transfer. But at the moment it's the Sporting Director who is dealing with that so it's hard to know how much the offer is right now. But the interest is strong and it will all depend on the negotiations and he could be moving before the transfer window period closes," the source revealed to Soccer Laduma.

A second insider stated that one of the factors delaying the decision is that Chiefs are still needing to secure their targets before potentially releasing Du Preez.
"As much as the interest is there and the offer has been tabled, they don't want to let him go before they get the strikers they are targeting. So as much as the offer seems good, they don't want to lose one of their best players before getting at least one of the targeted strikers that the coach wants. But what I can tell you is that Vitoria SC are willing to get him before the transfer window period," the second insider stated.
With Amakhosi reportedly short of significant funds to afford big signings, they may need to sell the likes of Du Preez to bring in a big-name player.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for comment on the situation, but no response was received at the time of publishing.
