Eto'o Sends Message To Those 'Plotting' Against Him

Eto'o Sends Message To Those 'Plotting' Against Him

Samuel Eto'o has revealed why he believes he has so many detractors.

The President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, Samuel Eto'o, has sent a warning to those he believes are plotting to undermine his authority.

It has not been smooth sailing for the legendary marksman in his role as the head of Cameroonian football.

The 43-year-old has been accused of match-fixing, punished by CAF for being an ambassador for a betting company and has had a dispute with the Cameroonian sports ministry over the appointment of Indomitable Lions head coach Marc Brys.

These incidents have seemingly put a target on his back, but the former Barcelona striker believes it is his efforts to build a new FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaounde at low cost that are upsetting his naysayers.

"The resumption of work on the FECAFOOT headquarters in Warda is excellent news," he said, as per Afrik Foot.

"We have good hope that we will be able to move in by the middle of next year.

"The agreement signed with the PAC company has made it possible to reduce the initial cost from 3 billion and fifty million CFA francs to 1 billion and five hundred million, a saving of 2 billion... hence my death.

Eto'o, who is currently serving a six-month ban from FIFA, however, has sent out a warning to those trying to stagnate Cameroonian football under his rule.

"The message must be clear to those who have taken our football hostage and who continue to plot in the shadows," he added.

"Stop the dirty tricks, change the software. The practices of the past and their perpetrators no longer have a place among us. Throughout my career, I have fought against injustice in football in particular, so I assume the consequences of this fight."
