Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Coach Miguel Cardoso recalled Peter Shalulile after his impressive cameo against Golden Arrows over the weekend, while Tashreeq Matthews and Jayden Adams replaced Kabomelo Kodisang and Sphelele Mkhulise.

Adams made the most of his first start after giving the Sundowns the lead on 10 minutes with a lovely finish over SuperSport shot-stopper Thakasani Mbanjwa following a neat cross by Zuko Mdunyelwa.

Sundowns dominated as expected and while SuperSport barely offered anything going forward, the visitors nearly doubled their lead near the 20-minute mark Shalulile won the ball high up the pitch before seeing his strike crash against the upright.

Gavin Hunt's men nearly pulled level ten minutes later against the run of play through Gape Moralo, who unleashed a powerful free-kick that rattled the crossbar with Ronwen Williams flat-footed on the line.

That proved to be SuperSport's only chance of the half, as Sundowns went on to bag a second goal before the interval as Matthews pounced on a loose ball in the box before calmly slotting home.

Sundowns picked up from where they left off in the first half as the influential Ribeiro broke free down the right flank before pulling the ball back for Matthews to fire home with a first-time finish.

SuperSport responded with a double change in the attack as Samir Nurkovic and Terrence Dzvukamanja replaced Christian Saile and Siviwe Magidigidi, while Cardoso handed a debut to new signing Lucas Suarez.

Even with the flurry of changes, SuperSport continued struggle in the final third as Sundowns looked to see out the rest of the encounter with relative ease.

Matsatsantsa also finished the game with 10 players after Siyabonga Ndebele was given his marching orders for a second yellow card, as the visitors slumped to a fourth straight defeat in the league.
