Coach Eric Tinkler will no doubt be casting an eye on the Soweto Derby this coming weekend and as was mentioned earlier in Fan Park, Kaizer Chiefs have notched four points to their benefit going into the derby.
In our corner, let’s take a look at four factors which can only be to our benefit when facing Chiefs in the derby.
First Team Regulars In Contract Limbo
First team regulars like Mandla Masango, George Lebese, Tefu Mashamaite and Itumeleng Khune are yet to sign contract extensions at the club and this could unsettle the players not knowing where their future lies.
Chiefs Lack Of Strength In Depth
Apart from Chiefs first XI, there are not many players off the bench who could add anything different from what the current squad can offer. Players like Matthew Rusike, Ivan Bukenya and Siyabonga Nkosi have featured off the bench a few times this season with not much effect in all honesty.
Lebese’s Legal Problems
George Lebese as we know could face charges of grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property after allegedly attacking his girlfriend. This has affected the wingers form and this could well have disrupted the camp somewhat.
No Attacking Balance
Ever since striker Kingston Nkhatha left Naturena, the Chiefs attacking department looked less threatening and unbalanced. This has been a big problem for Chiefs and will be one less problem for us going into the tie.
With that said, will these factors do us good in the derby this weekend?
