Top 5 Teammate Fights

Top 5 Teammate Fights

Every now and then, teammates have disputes, and they can result in some pretty rough bust-ups. Here are the best five that we could find.

Mario Balotelli v Roberto Mancini

During a training session in January 2013, Mancini and Balotelli were caught on camera coming to blows, with players and coaching staff having to separate the pair. The Italian manager was unhappy with a tackle his striker made on another player, but 'blew over quickly'.

Arjen Robben v Franck Ribery

During Bayern Munich's semi-final match with Real Madrid last season, it was not just the two teams that clashed. In an extremely petty disagreement that began on the pitch, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery rowed on the pitch over what is believed to be one not being happy over not being passed to. The argument escalated into the dressing room following the pair's insult-ridden walk into the tunnel and Ribery is thought to have punched Robben in the eye

Lee Bowyer vs. Kieron Dyer

During Newcastle United's 3-0 loss to Aston Villa in April 2005, two of Newcastle's players began fighting with ten minutes left. In a fight that was supposedly provoked by the Premier League's player with the most yellow cards, Lee Bowyer and his teammate Kieron Richardson began knocking lumps out of each other and had to be separated by the likes of Steven Carr and Gareth Barry, resulting in both players being sent-off.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs. Oguchi Onyewu

In Zlatan Ibrahimovic's autobiography, I am Zlatan, he revealed that in November 2010 he and Oguchi Onyewu managed to get an AC Milan training session cancelled, following a fight between the pair. The brawl began following a sharp two-footed tackle from Ibrahimovic that Onyewu took an immediate disliking to. The pair started a brawl, with the Swede even head butting the USA international and according to Oguchi, been 'repeatedly insulting'. The pair were separated by teammates, but not before Ibra managed to break his rib.

Joey Barton vs. Ousmane Dabo

Possibly the worst of Joey Barton's infamous mishaps in his 12 years as a professional footballer, is his altercation with Ousmane Dabo. The pair had a training ground bust-up that ultimately ended Barton's career at City and put Dabo in hospital. The Frenchman was beaten unconscious, suffering injuries to his head and a detached retina and Barton was charged with assault.

It's pretty crazy how these guys got to these boiling points, hopefully they all shook hands when it was said and done…

Which fight do you think was the worst?
