The story
The former Amakhosi and Bafana Bafana midfielder was one of seven Mzansi football icons to be inducted into the South African Hall of Fame last month.
Dladla, alongside greats such as the late, Patrick 'Ace' Ntsoelengoe, Neil Tovey, and Lucas Radebe, were inducted into the Hall of Fame, joining an elite group of South African sports heroes.
Orlando Pirates legend Dr. Jomo Sono, Banyana Banyana coach, Dr. Desiree Ellis, and former Bafana coach, Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba were also inducted in a ceremony held at Montecasino on 20 November.
Speaking on Marawa Sports Worldwide regarding his induction, the man who made the number 11 jersey famous at Amakhosi expressed plenty of gratitude in being honoured in such a manner.
"I don't know how to put it but, it shows me that people do appreciate what you're doing even though sometimes you don't recognise that people are recognising you and what you're doing," noted Dladla on MSW, who feels the acknowledgement was overdue.
"For me, it was long overdue. I mean, we never had Modimo wa bolo, Lucas Masterpieces Moripe. I knew him, [he was a] very very good player. We never had Ace Ntsoelengoe, may his soul rest in peace.
"I mean, being recognised for the things you were doing for the supporters, it's something that humbles me, I'm more than happy to be one of the inductees," shared Dladla in his chat with Robert Marawa.
