The story

Manchester City's troubles persisted as Pep Guardiola's team astonishingly squandered a three-goal lead, settling for a 3-3 draw against Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday.

City raced to an early 3-0 lead as they looked to end a five-match losing streak, with goals coming courtesy of Erling Haaland and Ilkay Gundogan.

However, Pep was left frazzles when Feyenoord mounted a dramatic comeback, starting in the last 15 minutes of the game with Anis Hadj Moussa, Santiago Gimenez and David Hancko's helping the Dutch side to a dramatic point.

In his post match interview, the Spanish mentor was spotted with scratches on his forehead, nose and scalp during the match and when asked about it during his post-match press conference, Guardiola replied that he had caused it with a fingernail, seemingly as a joke: "I want to harm myself."

He's gone onto clarify his worrying post match statement by insisted he did not want to make light of issues of self harm. Here's a look at his statement on Twitter/X:

However, the fans did not hold back in mocking Pep's facial scratches. Here are the most cutthroat posts from the timeline:
