Surprise Moriri announced this past weekend that he has officially retired from the beautiful game, and his news sparked messages from various players in the ABSA Premiership. Did you see them?
The 37-year-old enjoyed a 15-year career in South Africa's top flight, during which he turned out for Silver Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Highlands Park, and also made more than 30 appearances for his country.
Moriri raked in an impressive number of trophies with the Brazilians, which included four league titles in and amongst the 15 or so pieces of silverware he obtained over the course of his career.
The striker's former teammate Teko Modise, along with Orlando Pirates' Jackson Mabokgwane both took to their social media accounts to leave him a message regarding his career and retirement.

Mabokgwane's post read: "To the most humble footballer I've ever met @mohair14 (Moriri), I'd like to wish you a happy retirement. Thank you and well done on what you've done for the game and for me personally. I'm blessed to have played with and against you. Thank you for all the memories we shared, all the advice and the mentorship. #mybrother #myleadership Yes, the game has lost you as a player, but equally gained in you as a coach because I know you are going be a great coach. God is great."
