PSL Concept Kits: A Combination Of Creativity And Imagination

14 concept kits for DSTV Premiership teams have been designed to get fans excited for their favourite teams to finally release their new kits for the upcoming season.

What's the story?

Designer Nino Sekelani has put together a Twitter thread that consists of concept kits for 13 DSTV Premiership sides. 

Sekelani put together some dynamic and eclectic designs for Cape Town City, Chippa United, The Soweto Giants, Sundowns, Marumo Gallants, Sekhukhune United, Stellenbosch FC and all five KZN teams.  

KZN Teams  

Sekelani made sure to include all five KZN teams in his concept designs and the results should delight their respective fans. 

The AmaZulu kit has animal print details that fade into white at the bottom of the jersey. The designer uses the club's traditional colours and the details of the jersey have an experimental feel to it. 

Abafana bes'thende were given a more traditional-looking kit that features yellow collars and sleeves that blend well with the Golden Arrows green.  

Maritzburg United's Lotto kit would have fans wishing the concept design was the real deal. The Team of Choice tend to favour striped jersey's and the designer understood that.

The red finishings on the jersey complement the traditional blue and white colours of Maritzburg. 

Royal AM's concept kit is a slick white and gold and helps the team badge to stand out more. The sponsors on the jersey are also a classy touch. 

The Natal Rich Boyz will enjoy their first season in the top flight of South African football and the designer made sure the concept kit is fit for the big stage. 

Although it slightly resembles Hoffenheim's kit last season, Richards Bay fans surely wouldn't mind cheering their team on with that clean jersey. 

Soweto giants 

The Orlando Pirates jersey is a lot different than what fans would expect from a Buccaneers jersey but you can clearly see the designer had fun conceptualising this kit. 

He ditches the normal Adidas logo and goes for the Adidas Originals instead, which adds a vintage element to a historical club. 

The Kaizer Chiefs one also has an old-school collar and the patterns are something out of this world. The little pop of red on the Vodacom logo elevates the kit as well.
