The general idea for players moving abroad is to do so at a young age. However, many of them make the move much later on in their careers. We look at five PSL players who left South Africa after the age of 25. Check it out!
In what was one of the most sensational deals for a South African in recent years, Siphiwe Tshabalala signed for Turkish club Erzurumspor for the 2018/19 season. Being 33 at the time, many questioned the transfer, but the former Kaizer Chiefs man has reiterated how much of a dream come true his move to Turkey was.

After a stellar campaign with Cape Town City in the 2016/17 PSL season, Lebogang Manyama joined Konyaspor in Tukey at the age of 26. Unable to replicate his form there, Manyama failed to live up to expectations and returned home for the 2018/19 season with Amakhosi.
Mandla Masango was one of coach Stuart Baxter's most in-form players during their time together at Naturena, thus leading him to sign for Danish side Randers in 2016. At the moment, though, Masango is a free agent after being released by the Danes last season.
Another one of Baxter's star men at Chiefs was Tefu Mashamaite, who signed for Swedish side Hacken at the age of 30 in 2015. Masha spent a year abroad before returning to SuperSport United in the 2016/17 campaign.
After starring for the Glamour Boys between 1999 and 2004, Jabu Mahlangu signed for Mattersburg in Austria at the age of 24. Whilst being a supremely talented player in his day, hiss off-field antics got the better of him, particularly at Chiefs. He lasted only eight months with Mattersburg before he was sent packing following a drunk-driving incident.
