Real Madrid's eccentric left back Marcelo can easily be identified by his wild bushy hair and array of tattoos; however, the Brazilian recently sported a bizarre Volkswagen tattoo, which left fans confused.
Marcelo has since shed light on his queer body ink.
The 31-year-old's rags to riches story is a well-documented one. Having grown up in the slums that is Brazil's favelas, his journey to the bright lights of the Spanish capital was no easy feat.
Marcelo's body art tells part of his story and is a form of self-expression, so when questions were raised regarding his weird Volkswagen Beetle arm tattoo, the defender provided clarity on it.
"My grandpa was the one who always believed in me and drove me everywhere. He did the possible and the impossible to see me play football professionally. And my tattoo shows his car in which he always took me to practice," he told Sport Bild.
