The story
Luvuyo Memela is one of 16 players released by Chippa United yesterday, after his contract expired at the end of the 2023/24 season.
The former Orlando Pirates winger joins Namibian international goalkeeper Loydt Kazapua, ex-Royal AM midfielder Siphelele Luthuli, former Kaizer Chiefs midielder, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, and former SuperSport United full-back Siyabonga Nhlapo out the door at the Chilli Boys.
It's not clear what the future has in store for the 36-year-old, who boasts a stellar car collection, which he's accumulated over his long career in the PSL that took off at Chippa.
Memela's car fleet includes a VW Polo GTI (around R400k for Memela's version), a white BMW 5 series that has a retail price in the R1 million-region.
