What's the story?
Amakhosi met a spirited Al Ahly in the recent CAF Champions League final, with the Egyptians claiming their 10th title and second in succession.
During the opening exchanges of the match, Chiefs looked organized, holding a defensive shape for much of the first half. It went pear-shaped for the Soweto giants when Happy Mashiane was sent off for a reckless challenge on the brink of half-time.
Dominant Ahly
When the second half resumed, Ahly grew into the tie and began flexing their muscles. While the scoreline ended 3-0 in the favour of coach Pitso Mosimane's side, the Egypt side created numerous chances and could well have added to the board.
A Lucky Star
That being said, Twitter was left abuzz during and after the game with fans taking it upon themselves in giving Chiefs a star on their badge, a star of a different kind.
An image sporting the Chiefs logo, with a cut out of the Lucky star pilchards logo held on top of it made its rounds on social media after the game, much to the amusement of footy fans online.
