Hat-Trick Hereos That Never Ended Up On The Winning Side

Hat-Trick Hereos That Never Ended Up On The Winning Side

When we see players go onto score hat-tricks, we automatically think that their sides went onto win the game, but today we bring you four instances where this didn't happen in the English Premier League.

Christian Benteke – Aston Villa 3-3 Queens Park Rangers, April 2015

Belgian striker Christian Benteke struck twice in the first half to give Villa a 2-1 lead at half-time, but after the restart, he was needed to score a third to try salvage a point against fellow strugglers QPR in the league.

Romelu Lukaku – West Brom 5-5 Manchester United, May 2013

It was a big occasion as it was Sir Alex Ferguson's final game in charge of Manchester United... The Red Devils were three goals up with 10 minutes remaining, but Lukaku had other ideas and he managed to score three goals to cap a crazy draw in the dying minutes.

Dennis Bergkamp, Leicester 3-3 Arsenal, August 1997

The Dutch maestro scored one of the greatest Premier League hat-tricks in an early season game at Leicester in 1997. Two fine goals set the scene before the Dutchman latched onto a long pass to beat his man and finish it superbly.

Dwight Yorke, Newcastle 4-3 Aston Villa, September 1996

Yorke gave Vston Villa the lead early at St James' Park, but a hat-trick seemed very unlikely early in the second half, as his team was 3-1 down. As Newcastle went down to 10 men, Yorke managed to take advantage and he scored two more goals in what was a mini fight back.

Do you remember any of these moments?
