If you watched the Nedbank Cup clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City this past weekend, you will have no doubt been thoroughly entertained by the brand of football on the pitch. However, the entertainment value went up a couple of notches following the introduction of City's Fawaaz Basadien in the 82nd minute. Did you see what happened?
The midfielder's jersey was the topic of conversation on social media after the match as it appeared that the club had used some kind of adhesive tape to create a number, with his name written on with a marker.
It has been said that attacker Craig Martin fell ill just before the game, with Basadien being a last-minute change, hence not having time to get his kit ready. The result? A botched up kit with tape and permanent marker.

This is not the first time something like this has occurred. In 2015, former Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus also fell victim to the ruthless internet troll fraternity after he wore a jersey with his name spelt incorrectly on it – instead of "Erasmus", the name at the back of the jersey read "Eramus", much to the amusement of the fans.

More recently, Ajax Cape Town attacking midfielder Fagrie Lakay made his debut for the Mother City outfit in January with his named being spelt incorrectly on the back of his shirt.
Printed "Lakey" as opposed to "Lakay", the on-loan attacker seemingly also fell victim to his name being hacked on his debut jersey.
