Well, this is awkward! As football fans, we tend to be aware of where some of the world's brightest talents are playing, but that doesn't always extend to footballers themselves. Can you believe that Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez had no clue who Ilkay Gundogan is?
Just minutes before a Premier League encounter between Manchester City and Arsenal recently, the former FC Barcelona player embraced his former colleague Claudio Bravo in the tunnel.
At the time, all the City players were sporting a "Gundogan 8" jersey on top of their usual kit in a show of solidarity in light of his season-ending injury, and after finishing hugging Bravo, Sanchez naively asked: "Who is 8? Is he young?"
I know, right? Awks!
Clearly, Sanchez had no clue who the German midfielder who moved to City from Borussia Dortmund for a massive £20 million (R337 million) in the European summer transfer window, was.
