The story
UEFA's Euro 2024 football tournament is underway, and Albania's Jasir Asani stood out with his eye-catching Super Mario-themed boots.
Jasir Asani, who plays for Gwangju FC in South Korea, sported teal PUMA Ultra boots featuring Mario on one foot, jumping with his iconic red hat and mustache, surrounded by coins.
Luigi graced the other foot, both boots adorned inside with gold coins symbolizing their success.
These custom boots were designed by Swithadot and they certainly brought some magic as Asani assisted Albania's first goal in their 2-2 draw against favourites, Croatia in their UEFA Euro Group B encounter.
Clearly a fan of the franchise, Asani showcased his love on football's grand stage, coinciding perfectly with Nintendo's announcement of a new Mario Luigi game, "Brothership," during June 18's Nintendo Direct.
This upcoming title reunites the brothers after nine years, promising new worlds, mini-games, and classic platforming experiences on the Nintendo Switch, set for release on November 7.
