The story

Former Amakhosi captain, Itumeleng Khune was just 20 years old when he made his debut in the Soweto Derby, a thrilling 2-2 draw in 2007 against an Orlando Pirates side that featured the likes of, Teko Modise, Bennet Chenene, Excellent Walaza and the late Senzo Meyiwa.

Over the course of his career, he has featured in the iconic fixture 30 times, securing nine wins, eight losses, and 13 draws.

Khune, who has been a free agent since his last contract with Chiefs expired at the end of last season, has been working on a number of ventures away from football, including a betting company he runs, TopBet.

In a snippet of what looks to be a podcast interview, SA's former number one highlighted that the most pressure he's felt in his career came from the derby.

"My biggest pressure was always facing Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby. I would have butterflies in my stomach and I would have to run to the toilet, you know, to release the stress and the pressure so that I can enjoy the game," said Khune in the snippet.
