According to The Athletic, the Spanish tactician will renew for an additional year at the Etihad Stadium, taking his tenure at the club to 10 years, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
Speculation over his future with the Sky Blues has been rife following the confirmation that his chief ally and club sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The two had worked together at Barcelona, but were reunited at the home of the Premier League champions.
Begiristain's exit, combined with intensifying rumours that Guardiola may be interested in leading a national team as his next project, led many to believe the 2024/25 campaign could be his last in Manchester.
However, it seems that he is still committed to the club.
The 53-year-old began his managerial career at Barcelona, where he spent four years before moving on to coach Bayern Munich for another three years. However, City is where he has spent the most time and where he has consequently achieved the most success.
While everybody at the club will welcome Guardiola's likely decision to put pen to paper on an extension, the trophy-laden manager's immediate concern will be turning around the team's current form.
