An Egypt international has revealed that Pitso Mosimane tried to recruit him at Al Ahly while the South African was still in charge of the record African champions.

While the 60-year-old only spent two years with the Club of the Century, he achieved an incredible amount of success there.
He won two CAF Champions League titles, two CAF Super Cups, an Egyptian Premier League title, as well as an Egyptian Cup.
The Kagiso native achieved this with a lot of quality players at his disposal, and it seems he would have liked to have had another in Mohamed Farouk.
The forward was with the Red Devils for only a year, between 2014 and 2015, but played for Pyramids and Modern Sport during Mosimane's tenure at Cairo International Stadium.
The 35-year-old has now revealed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager tried to bring him back to Ahly, but he ended up snubbing the opportunity.
"Al Ahly asked to include me three times after I left the team, and I did not get a full chance with them and I was not successful. I am an Al Ahly fan and a supporter of the club, and Zamalek asked to include me twice, but there was a disagreement over the financial value due to the demands of Al Mokawloon Al-Arab," the forward said, as per Btolat.

"I separate my affiliation, presence and work with other clubs, and that is why I was giving my best with Pyramids, and Mosimane asked to include me in Al Ahly during his time in an exchange deal with Ahmed El-Sheikh, while I was at Pyramids, and I do not like to sit as a substitute for any player and I wished to return and be number one in my position."
