Earlier this week, the Inter Miami captain's Ibiza villa was vandalised by a group of alleged climate activists from the organisation "Futuro Vegetal".

The group demanded that people "help the planet" and "eat the rich" on signs they held up inside the property, while they also called for the abolishment of police.

Demanding radical change in light of potential environmental dangers facing the planet, the climate protesters broke into Messi's holiday villa and allegedly damaged parts of the property.

Here are some images of the former Barcelona captain's vandalised mansion:

Argentina's president Javier Milei has since condemned the group's actions in a social media post on X (formerly Twitter).

"In Spain, communists who want to 'kill the rich and abolish the police to end climate change' vandalized a house belonging to Lionel Messi and his family," he wrote.

"I stand in solidarity with the Messi family for this cowardly and delusional event, and I ask the government of Pedro Sanchez to guarantee the safety of Argentine citizens living in the Kingdom of Spain.

"Communism is an ideology fostered by envy, hatred and resentment towards the successful. It has no place in the free and civilized world. LONG LIVE FREEDOM, DAMN IT."
